Brand reinvention
Our client is a FTSE 100 global consumer business. Lygon has worked with the board and executive team since 2008, supporting the company through recession and growth
We worked closely with the SID on the appointment of a new chair to support the board as it lifts its sights to focus on longer-term strategic issues and to work with a recently appointed CEO in his first plc role helping him to navigate a fast-changing US, European and Asian customer base
Although this was a global search, candidates needed to have substantial plc experience to complement the management team and have credibility with the board. The successful candidate has a track record of value creation in international blue chip consumer businesses, entrepreneurial and large corporate roles as well as being a respected chair
Business reconstruction
Our client is a FTSE 250 contracting business that needed to appoint a new chair to support and lead a turnaround of the group
A recently appointed CEO and CFO required challenge and support. The new chair needed to reconstitute the non-executive board and create an environment of trust and collaboration. After a period of share price decline, the new chair needed to build confidence amongst the investor community
We identified a diverse shortlist of interested and qualified candidates within six weeks. Candidates had plc turnaround experience across multiple sectors, each of which involved complex contracting. The successful candidate was announced to a positive reception from shareholders and a share price rise
Facilitated change
Our client is a technology infrastructure business that was taken private by a consortium of banks in 2018
The new owners wanted to appoint a chair to support them and the management team in both an ambassadorial capacity – with potential customers, contractors and Government – and also in significant capital allocation decisions
We identified a shortlist of interested and qualified candidates that included experienced chairs with backgrounds in telecoms, infrastructure, government relations and with both plc and private equity experience. A former FTSE 100 CEO was appointed as chair
